A
guide to large and small challenges. Please
take a moment to read our terms of use.
Purchased
in January of 2004 it is a work in progress. This is
a rewarding project but not for the faint of heart or
mechanically challenged. The unit will serve as a spare
bedroom and retro conversation piece at our lake cabin.
It is trailer-able and will probably make a camping
trip each summer once complete. I take that back. It
may never be complete hence a work in progress.
I have about 700 hours and close
to 10K in it. This includes: Purchase Price, $1,000; Fancy Window
Treatments and cushions, $2,000; Custom Bed for the H-24 from
Verlo Mattress, $500; New Countertops: $800; New Axle $1,000;
Cyclo Polisher and Dewalt DW compounding drill: $500.00; Paint,
Wood, Flooring, misc hardware/supplies for polishing, $2,000;
Tires and Rims, $400; Faucets, $300; Rental of a bobcat to fashion
a level resting place and install 40 railroad ties to hold back
the hill, redgranite rock, $1,000. I know I am missing something
here. Still have to hook up a water tank and pump (Dr G has
great ideas for on demand pump), fashion a gray water/ tank,
install propane lines, install toilet, lay down floor molding,
finish the polishing.
