My wife got tired of waiting for me to fix the cracked roof vent in the bedroom. She wasn't satisfied with my solution of hanging a trash bag under it when it rained. (hee hee) She came up with a brilliant solution that makes the vent more functional than ever. Rather than replace the plastic cover we supplemented it with a MaxAir cover that you can get at many camping retailers such as Camping World. We cleaned up the the leaking top with 409 and then siliconed the crack. The Max Air mounts directly to the aluminum frame up top.
Now we can still open and close our vent how we want and leave it open without worrying about the rain.
Quick and Easy
I get a lot of questions about where you can get replacement roof vents. There are no exact replacements for the Hehr brand. Cayo sells a cover that will work but I have an easier and more functional solution
